What it adds

Built for one aesthetic

It's not another general-purpose beat-making firmware. Every decision, from the sound engines to the sequencing algorithms, serves rhythmic noise and power noise, the hard, distorted, machine-driven end of industrial music.

Generators

Patch, Kit, Phrase and Pattern build sounds and sequences for you. One level control sets how dense and brutal the result is.

Live breaks

Throw the playing pattern into breakcore-style variations: stutters, chops, rolls and sweeps. Keep the ones you like as new patterns.

Hold PAGE while playing

Per-track distortion

Overdrive, wavefolding, bias and a clean sub crossover on every track, with a noise gate. It only ever adds density.

FUNC + SWEEP

DJ resonant filter

One sweepable low-pass/high-pass filter per track, after the distortion.

FUNC + PITCH

Per-track pan

Offset any track across the stereo field. Pan locks and generated movement keep moving on top.

FUNC + VOLUME+DIST

Latched Control All

Every knob moves all six tracks, overriding locks, and reverts instantly when you turn it off.

FUNC + TRK

LYRA

A cross-modulating texture voice inspired by the SOMA LYRA-8, in place of the CHORD machine.

Install

Nothing to install

The patcher runs in your browser on any computer. It converts your own copy of the official OS 1.13 into Motor:Cycles, checking every stage, and never uploads your file.

Open the patcher
  1. Download the official OS 1.13 from elektron.se.
  2. Drop it on the patcher and save the result.
  3. Send it to your Model:Cycles with Elektron Transfer.
