Install Tonitor
This page installs Tonitor on an M-VAVE SMK-37 Pro connected to this computer, over USB MIDI. It works in a desktop Chrome, Edge or Opera. It talks to the keyboard directly: nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Read this first. Tonitor is an unofficial firmware, not made, endorsed or supported by M-VAVE. Installing it replaces the SMK-37 Pro's firmware and may void any warranty that applies to your device. An interrupted update can leave the keyboard unable to start until it is recovered. The software comes with no warranty of any kind; you install it entirely at your own risk. Full disclaimer.

Before you start
- Back up the keyboard's flash before the first install. Parts of it (the Bluetooth pairing, the key, pad and wheel calibration, the chip's key) are unique to your unit and cannot be downloaded again. The backup runs from a Mac with the command-line tools: the procedure.
- Use a USB cable that carries data (some carry power only), plugged straight into the computer.
- Switch the SMK-37 Pro on, and close any other program using MIDI (a DAW, M-VAVE's app).
- When the browser asks to let this page control MIDI devices, allow it: the update is sent as MIDI system-exclusive messages.
The installer works from M-VAVE's firmware, from another firmware built on Felucca or SLOOP, from Tonitor itself and from the rescue mode. It reads the package before anything is sent and refuses a firmware made for the FM-1: on an SMK-37 it would erase the keyboard's calibration.
Trying another firmware? Back up your sessions and presets first: you can put them back after reinstalling Tonitor.
Go back to M-VAVE's firmware
Install M-VAVE's own firmware file for the SMK-37 Pro (from M-VAVE's support page) with the same installer. Choose the file here, then use Find my SMK-37 and the install button above. The file is checked first: only a package laid out for the SMK-37 is accepted.
The stock firmware does not keep Tonitor's sessions; save them to a file first (Backup).
If something goes wrong
Stopped part-way? Reload this page and install again: a keyboard left in update mode is found and the write is finished. If the SMK-37 does not start, hold OCTAVE− while switching it on: the screen says RESCUE, and the install can be run again. Two failed starts in a row also enter rescue mode, and a third one starts the chip's own update mode.
If it no longer starts at all, the full flash backup taken before the first install can be written back through the chip's own update mode (UBOOT): see recovery.
Prefer the command line? Build and install from source.
The installer (js/fm1ota.js) is a port of Felucca's installer, with SLOOP's checks for
the SMK-37, GPL-3.0; the firmware it installs is GPL-3.0, its source
on GitHub.
